^{This is for the general information that any requirement of Indian Rupee and Ngultrum Fresh Notes (any denominations) by the Government Agencies/public shall be made available directly by the commercial banks. Commercial banks are provided with adequate INR working balance and the Ngultrum Fresh Notes to meet any public requirement. Henceforth, the Royal Monetary Authority will not entertain public services for issue of INR and Ngultrum Fresh Notes requirement with effect from 01 May 2010.
Further, any Government Agencies issuing cheques may do so directly with the commercial banks where you have your account and RMA no longer shall accept such instruments.
