Little CEO’s program, inspired by “More than a Lemonade Stand” of e-seedling programs in the US, is a sub-program of SBS, targeted and customized for children aged 13-15 years and organized during winter vacations. RMA, in collaboration with the Financial Institutions Training Institute (FITI), organized the first little CEO’s program in January 2019. A total of 12 children took part where they underwent intensive grooming and simulation of their business ideas.
The program consisted if fun training methodology, including field trips and real experience of selling products to enhance their innovation and creative skills.
2nd Batch of Little CEO’s Program (6th – 17th January 2020)
Faced with a lack of resources and opportunities, students from rural areas of the country increasingly fall behind their urban peers when it comes to learning and discovering new aspects of life. Considering that, Royal Monetary Authority in collaboration with the Financial Institutions Training Institute has initiated 2nd Batch of Little CEO’s Session the school children from 6th – 17th January, 2020. This year a total 24 students were selected from across the country and the intake of participants has been considered to the children from rural areas.
The overall objective of the program was to:
1. Expose children with a fun and exciting introduction to the world of entrepreneurs
2. Train to start and run a business
3. Encourage children to use and enhance their innovation and creativity skills
4. Be financial literate
5. Develop confidence and leadership qualities.
Students from 9 Dzongkhag and 14 different schools attended the training program.
