Functions of FIU

The function of FIU is to receive transaction reports from reporting entities and information from other FIUs, analyzing the information received from the reporting entities, and disseminating and sharing the results of analysis (financial intelligence) to the Law Enforcement Agencies and Prosecutors.

The FIU also serve as a national center for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information regarding money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The core functions of the FIU:

  • Advanced AML/CFT Planning
  • International Coorporation(APG, Foreign FIUs, Egmont Group), Domestic coorporation - NCC & TWC meetings
  • Development and management of information analysis system(CTR and STR analysis)
  • Collection of reports (CTR,STR) from reporting entities.
  • Planning & coordination of information analysis.
  • Operational and strategic analysis of CTRs and STRs.
  • Allocation for analysis and dissimination of analysis results to LEA.
  • To issue guidelines and Regulations pertaining to AML/CFT perspective
  • Education and awarness on AML/CFT regime
  • Supervision on compliance with AML/CFT regulation, FIU Guidelines and FATF recommendation
