In continuation to the notification on the old high-denomination bank notes of INR 500 and INR 1000, RMA would like to inform the public and business firms etc., holding the stated INR bank notes of the following:
1. The deadline for depositing the stated INR bank notes has been changed to close of business on 30 November 2016, in order to facilitate the timely remittance of the stated INR bank notes to India.
2. The RMA would like to assure the general public that we are in close dialogues with our counterparts in India to ensure timely supply of Indian Rupees having legal tender character to our public.
3. We would like to urge the general public to refrain from misusing the facilities being provided. The Financial Intelligence Unit of the RMA is closely monitoring and collecting detailed information on all deposits being made and will be collaborating with other relevant authorities.
