The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA) launches new Commemorative Coins themed Four Harmonious Friends (Thuenpa Puen Zhi) to mark the 112th National Day. The commemorative coins were designed featuring the tale of the Four Harmonious Friends to preserve our Buddhist culture of offering societal wisdom on respect for seniority. The Four Harmonious Friends is a representation of how each one of us is responsible for leading the other to virtue; how each one is different yet needed to complete the smallest of tasks and how each one should be willing to ask for help, receive help and offer help.
The Four Friends- an elephant, a monkey, a rabbit and a bird are a epitome of friendship and cooperation. The story is showcased in color on a 4 oz rectangular coin bar, 1 oz silver normal circular coin and a mini gold coin (the smallest gold coin).
