The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA) would like to inform the general public that the revised Rules and Regulations for Registered Private Money Lenders 2023 (4th Edition) has been uploaded on the RMA`s website (Under Legislation Tab >> Governor`s Office) which has come into effect from 1st day of March 2023.
The RMA would like to reiterate once again that it is an offence to carry out financial services as business/activity without obtaining valid license or registration certificate from the RMA as per the Financial Services Act (FSA) of Bhutan 2011 and Rules and Regulations for Registered Money Lenders 2023. Failure to comply with the provision of FSA 2011 and Rules and Regulations for Registered Private Money Lenders 2023 will be penalized in accordance with Sections 15 and 166 of FSA 2011.
