MORATORIUM ON NEW HOUSING & HOTEL CONSTRUCTION LOANS
The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan would like to inform the general public that new housing and hotel construction loans are being suspended with effect from 9th June 2023 until 31st December 2023. The moratorium is being imposed in view of broader concerns from the RMA as well as the Royal Government of Bhutan on the associated outflow of foreign currency as well as the high credit concentration and NPL risks in these two sectors.
