Notification

The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA) would like to inform the business entities, agencies and the general public that all cross-border related applications, including payments for goods will be facilitated through the Bhutan Trade FinNet (BTFN) System from July 1, 2023 as follows:

1. Import from COTI – Issuance of Import License and Bank Application

2. Export to COTI – Issuance of Certificate of Origin and Bank Application

However, in order to ensure smooth transition and system stability, the BTFN system will continue to pilot the following modules from July 1- 30, 2023:

1. Import from India – Import registration and Bank application

2. Export to India – Export Registration and Bank application (The current manual practice of Bank Export Registration (BER) form will be discontinued w.e.f. July 1, 2023)

Therefore, all business entities, agencies and the general public are also requested to avail  the cross-border remittances facility for  India and third countries through the  BTFN system. The BTFN system can be accessed at: https://www.btfn.bt/.
